Review: Pandora Open My Heart Clip

Today I’ll be reviewing the Open My Heart Clip which for some reason was delayed but now I think most stores should have them.  I was wondering whether there would be a production issue since it was a pavé clip, I say this because there has been issues with other pavé pieces in the past such as the Forever ring which was retired only months after it was released.

First Impression:

Once again Pandora goes the way of pave, it is getting to the point where we should just call it Pavedora instead of Pandora, it is pretty but nothing new here.

Review:

First thing I’ll show is the difference in size between the Open My Heart clip and the regular clear Heart Pavé:

I apologize for the quality of the photos, it is very hard to photograph sparkly jewelry!  Here we see the the clip is slightly larger, and looks fuller overall because it doesn’t have the sides cut off like the charm does in order to accommodate the size of the core. Here we see the clip on a bracelet:

I didn’t think I would like this clip since it was just more pavé, but it’s actually really pretty, I like the size the most. Here is a shot of the clip next to the Steady Heart clip:

It’s a tad larger than the Steady Heart clip.  And of course the Open My Heart opens the same way the Steady Heart does, through the little indentation at the bottom of the clip.  Here we see the clips on an actual bracelet, and since I am partial to hearts I loved the way it looked!

There is a also another very important thing to remember if someone bought these clips hoping to put them on the five station clip bracelet or the multi-strand one station clip bracelet:  THEY WILL NOT FIT.  Trust me I tried, they will not fit the stations as the bar isn’t long enough to accommodate the extra girth of the top part of the heart.  The clip will not close all the way on the bar, and to force it would risk damaging both the bracelet and the clips. It’s truly a shame as I thought these on the five station bracelet would look stunning.

In conclusion:

I tend to be very wishy washy when it comes to seeing the charms online vs in real life.  I will love the way they look online then be disappointed when I finally get to see them or I’ll hate the way they look online then love them on my bracelet. With these I actually liked them a lot, I like that because they are clips the cores are small, so there more of a heart shape.  They look fuller, more like puffy hearts which is what I think Pandora was going for in the first place. This charm retails for $70 and is all sterling silver. What do you guys think of the Open My Heart clip?  Did these pictures help you in your future purchases?
