FYI: Upcoming Promo for Popular Brand, But Is It Worth The $125?

Hi everyone!! Long time no see! As always I hadn’t felt like blogging much, (or maybe I felt there was nothing much to report on!) but here I am as I found out some info on the next promotion for P******.

I’m pretty sure I’m late to the party as always, but I just found out that this company will be having a promotion this Thursday August 26th to Sunday the 29th; spend $125 and receive a free leather P****** fanny pack. Yes you read that right, you’ll get a free fanny pack!!! Isn’t that amazing?! HAHAHA I’m sorry if I’m being sarcastic but yikes! Ok so let me first preface this post with the next statement: although I’ve had my problems with this company in the past, I’m going to try to be very objective and not let my past with them affect my next opinions. I will be addressing this as a long time customer, so if I complain, please try to remember I’m not letting my past cloud my opinion, I am speaking as a long time customer and I’m also speaking out of ignorance as I don’t have all the facts. Again these are my opinions and nothing else.

Ok so now that I got that out of the way…I can’t believe the promotion is spend $125 to get a free fanny pack…like what?! All I can say is I hope this isn’t meant to replace the September event which is usually the free bracelet or free charm promo. If I recollect sometimes it’s been a buy more save more, but it’s been awhile since they’ve done one of those. This new promo really confuses me. Is it really meant to replace the free bracelet promo? Or is it just a quick little promo to drum up business and then still have the free bracelet promo? As a customer I would just wait for the September promotion instead, however as a one time big collector, if I had the extra money laying around maybe I would spend the money just to get the fanny pack.

Also is it just me or is a fanny pack kind of not your thing? Once again this makes me feel like this company is ignoring their long time older collectors and fans and focusing on the younger crowd, aren’t they the ones wearing the fanny packs these days LOL? And I know that there are other ways to wear the fanny pack now, but I guess it’s just not appealing to me, like in the least. Let me know your opinion on this down below, I would love to know what you are thinking.

There’s also the issue of it being advertised as being a leather fanny pack. I want to tread carefully here as I know there are a lot of schools of thought in regards to leather and I don’t want to step on anyone’s toes. I don’t mind leather, I enjoy collecting leather purses (especially designer brands) and other leather articles. I also know there has been a push for vegan leather because of different lifestyles like animal lovers and vegans. My point is, I don’t know how to feel in regards to this being a leather fanny pack. Is $125 worth a genuine leather article? Or is the small print advertising this as vegan leather and if it is, again is it worth $125? I guess I don’t really know, again comment down below and let me know what you think.

That’s pretty much my thought on this promo. I also wanted to state that for this being the Fall collection, I am severely underwhelmed by it. Usually the Autumn and Winter collections are my ABSOLUTE  favorites, but I have to say, I only liked maybe two or three charms and maybe one necklace and one ring. It’s ok though, just means I get to save my money and my wish list is slowly getting smaller and smaller which makes me happy! Hopefully the Winter collection will be more up my alley.

Let me know down in the comments what you think of all this. Were there any points or thoughts that you think I missed? Am I being too harsh? Again without knowing if there is going to be another promotion in September it’s hard to fathom they want customers to spend that much money on a fanny pack 😂

Once again thank you to a special someone who alerted me to the promo, you know who you are!

I think it’s ridiculous from the brand to think we would be rushing to the stores to get a fanny pack……
Even The Rock could not make that spectacular in the 80’s….
    Big no for me….

    • Jahndra says:

OMG The Rock!!! I thought the same thing when I heard fanny pack AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!! Yes it’s a big no for me too, I just really hope they are not going to skip on the bracelet promo next month. This promotion seems so random!

  2. Melissa says:

Interesting and hard pass. Definitely geared for a younger buyer. I finally liked some of the fall collection and was going to purchase during their promotion, but now I will wait.

Hi Jahndra, OMG! I just wrote a response and it disappear! 😂 Let me start over. I like the fact you can just throw the fanny pack over your shoulder and run out the door! I think it’s cute. Pandora has had spend $125 and get a plastic bag. That totally was not worth spending $125 for! I do love the Princesses, but I will wait for the bracelet promo. I think they will still have one. Last year we had the pink jewelry box promo and later a bracelet promo.

    • Jahndra says:

You have an excellent memory because I don’t remember any of that!!! I’m sure this will appeal to big time collectors, but the $125 is a bit steep, at least for me in order to get a fanny pack. My friend Jiji said she’s already getting emails about it and they are calling them belt bags, I think I much prefer that than fanny pack LOL!

Ummmmm?? No. I won’t be running into the store for this one. Also being in Canada it will probably be 150. So 150 dollars for a Fanny pack. Not a chance for this Pandora Hunter!
    Love your Blog 💗

    • Jahndra says:

aww thanks Debby!! Yes the consensus at least for us old time collectors is a no thank you. This is definitely targeting the younger demographic!! I would’ve much preferred a jewelry box instead!

      • Cath says:

A Fanny pack? Seriously? As a Dutch collector for well over 15 years, I honestly thought this was a fun prank from someone. As if people would run to the stores for a ‘Funny’ pack. But now having seen pictures of it, I still can’t believe it 😂
A free bracelet promotion might be more practical.

My country (The Netherlands, Europe) doesn’t get nice promotions with free bags, travel cases, Christmas ornaments, free bracelets or special items for Mother’s Day or Black Friday. Last 3 years we finally had the free December limited edition bangles, and the 2+1 promotion. The only free non jewellery promotion article I ever could get my hands on, is the very useful green travel bag with holly leave on it. Still very happy with that one, as it is my only good travel option.
I would prefer to see a nice big powdered pink make- up bag. Or black with a rose gold logo on it. Or a nice travel jewellery wallet organiser. A YouTuber (Amara Costanza; p*** anelli carrellata parte 1 di 5) from Italy has got that one. And it is awesome! Such a practical item. I would use it all the time.

I don’t own a nice Stackers tower. But purchased a few of the smaller black wooden/glass boxes years ago, retailers used to have those double sized ones in their stores. YouTuber Charmingly Baroque (P*** collection March 2020) has got a double sized black wooden box. It’s just amazingly beautiful. And the inlining is anti- tarnish.

Maybe you’re right about the company focusing on the youth. Is this really fashion nowadays? But looking back at my starting years of collecting. Still in uni, having to save up for just one or two items. How is this group their main focus. The Autumn and Winter collections have always been my favourite collections too. But over the entire year, the only items I’m interested in are the two tone silver/ solid 14 k gold without cz’s in them. That two tone castle 🤪😍. That was the moment I felt hopeful again. But none of the autumn pieces spoke to me unfortunately. Maybe this Winters collection will be better?
Sorry for the long length of this comment. But I feel like most collectors are still happy with upcoming kid- like colourful cz covered non silver, plated items. I’m not saying all cz/colours are kid- like or cartoonish. But some of them are going that way.
You, and your lovely blog readers seem to feel a little bit different about this sometimes, and are talking about the changes the brand is making. Loving the old school items. And sometimes I feel like quitting collecting this brand. But then again, maybe they will change back into being a proper jewellery brand… It’s just good to know, more people feel this way about the brand shifting.

Thank you Jahndra for taking the time and effort to write this P*** blog. Loved all the T*** items you purchased btw. They look so dainty and beautiful.

        • Jahndra says:

I one hundred per cent agree with you Cath! I also feel like the company is starting to focus A LOT on younger collectors which is fine, but I also find their cartoony and youthful designs a little off putting. I want the classic two tones, solid gold charms and real gemstones back!!

I’m sorry that you and other collectors from the Netherland don’t get free gifts with promotions, it’s what makes spending money there fun especially if you are a collector. I also feel they used to have very nice freebies like umbrellas and even water bottles. Now it’s cheaply made stuff unfortunately.

I, like you love the old school items, you are not alone! There are a lot of us who prefer the old styles better. I think the only reason they brought back the two tones is because a lot of customers complained!! Anyway, thank you so much for your lovely comment. I will continue to blog, even if it is not as often as I used to, and yes I love Tiffany’s now! Before what I wouldn’t have given to have just one piece, now I’m on my 8th piece I think, I’m hopeless!!!

        • Pandoraca says:

Yes, we are still out here, wishing for what Pandora used to be! I just think a lot of us have given up on complaining to a company that doesn’t seem to care.

  5. Heather S. says:

Seriously? No. Give me a buy more save more, % off, free charm or bracelet any
day of the week and I will be purchasing!
My first thought was could you imagine being the factory worker making
this bag during the pandemic? And the price that was paid
for it to be on a container ship or a plane to get it to the US?
And if I am going to be wearing a fanny bag it had better be one that is well
organized with lots of pockets, don’t need my stomach or butt looking any bigger
than it is! And no I couldn’t wear it like a crossbody my boobs
would get in the way. 🙂

Good to see a post again from you!

    • Jahndra says:

THank you so much for your comment Heather!! Yes I’ve tended to get really lazy with my blogging lately, I will try to be better about it. I’ll try to go back to my From the Box series to feature older favorites. Ever since the pandemic began, my sources for news on this company have dried up and blogging about upcoming promos had started to be my main focus. Time to switch back to how I used to blog I think!

Anyway, I couldn’t agree with you more! I also don’t need a “belt” bag to make my lower stomach or butt to look any bigger, and also I don’t think I could wear this around my chest, my boobs would also get in the way! I think I would look ridiculous, like I was trying to regain my youth or something LOL LOL LOL!!! Thanks again for your comment, you literally made me laugh out loud!

  6. Tia says:

LMAO… I’m dead. I have been wondering what they’re doing for the next promo and this is hilariously bad. I haven’t bought anything from P****** for a while, but there are a few new(er) pieces on my wish list. Guess I will now wait for Christmas / Boxing Week sales.

    • Jahndra says:

Hahahah dead…for real right?! It really is hilariously bad…I really hope this isn’t going to replace the September promo, that would be absolutely horrible! I don’t have much from the Fall collection that I like, I’m hoping the Winter collection is better, my wish list is slowly shrinking!

      • Tia says:

At this point, they can’t surprise us anymore. XD
Someone in Marketing accidentally ordered 5,ooo fanny packs from AliExp and figured they would slap a P****** logo on it and make it a “promotional item”.

Yeah, the recent releases have been kinda meh for me as well. I guess we’re saving money! 😀

    • Jahndra says:

Ahahahaha you crack me up Martha!!! Seriously though a Fanny pack!!!! 🤦🏻‍♀️ Maybe if it were a $50 purchase? Not $125.

  7. Nu.Disney.LA says:

It’s not just you. As someone who is a brand new charms collector (literally, 1st P purchase was this week) and definitely not a teenager, I find the optics of the free fanny pack promotion crass and cheap. I think most folks would prefer a discount, a BOGO or a complimentary charm or bracelet offer over a cheap piece of promotional plastic.

“Spend $125+ and get to promote our company every time you take your dog for a walk/go to the grocery store!”

Yeah, I’m gonna pass on that one, thanks tho. 🤨

    • Jahndra says:

LOLOLOLOL Oh my your comment had me rolling on the floor!!! Hilarious!! Crass and Cheap….yeah LOL! I agree with you, I think the majority of us much prefer a small discount, or a free charm or a bracelet over the promotional plastic. One store was advertising this as a leather bag and when I went to the store to ask about it, they told me it wasn’t real leather so there you go! I also passed, will wait until the free bracelet event later on this month instead and get the free bracelet!
