Review: Pandora Three Link Bangle

OMG guys can you believe it’s been over a year since I’ve done a review!!!! šŸ˜±šŸ˜±šŸ˜± I didn’t realize it’s been that long!! But I’m back doing one today!! Let’s celebrate by doing a dance!! J/K let’s get serious and get to it!

First Impression:

My first impression was this bracelet was weird, I’m sorry I don’t know what other word to use. I saw it in a launch guide at my local concept store and I remember thinking, what’s the point of this weird, hybrid bracelet?

If you remember in my post where I “previewed” the upcoming Autumn collection I mentioned this bracelet and I even made a mock up of it to try and illustrate what I had seen:

Well the pre-Autumn release date is around the corner so I was allowed to play around with it.

Review:

I have to warn you all, this is going to be a short review because honestly I don’t have a lot to say about this bracelet. I’m going to be brutally honest in my review, please remember this is my opinion, doesn’t mean I’m right or wrong, it’s simply my opinion and my taste in jewelry. If you like this bracelet, more power to you! Maybe in the future I’ll see someone do something amazingly creative with it and it will change my mind on it. This has been known to happen to me in the past LOL!

Once I started playing with the bracelet I was not impressed at all. It feels flimsy and it doesn’t hold its shape adequately because it’s a hybrid bracelet. Please click on the images to see the bigger photos.Ā  I’m going to let the pictures do the talking:

The snake chain is attached, soldered on, for some reason I thought it would be hooked on and that the snake chain part of the bracelet could be easily removed, but I was wrong.Ā  Another interesting thing to note, is that the ball joint part of the bangle where you insert it into the clasp mechanism is smaller, and there is no threading.

I’m sorry I should’ve taken a picture of a regular bangle in order to compare them side by side, but I was in a rush, and took the photos I could before I had to go. The ball joint part of this bracelet seemed smaller too compared to the regular bangle, but it could also just be the fact that it’s missing the threading.

To finalize my review I leave you with a small video I took so you can see the bracelet in action:

Conclusion:

In conclusion I feel the look of the bracelet is sort of cool, but not that functional if you plan on wearing charms on it. If you want to use it strictly to layer with, then I would think the bracelet would look awesome especially since it’s two toned, so would look amazing with other Shine or Rose pieces.

This bracelet is available in Shine, and Pandora Rose, and will retail at $140 for the Shine bangle, and $130 for the Pandora Rose.

What are your thoughts so far? Comment down below and let me know! I really don’t know what else to say about this bracelet other than WHY? In my opinion, knowing how the snake chains work, I feel like if anyone were to put charms on this bracelet, they will sit at the bottom, and the nature of the snake chain is to stretch a bit as the charms weight it down, so that part of the bracelet will stretch and look off. What do you think?

I agree! I thought they were coming out with an all silver one, and I’ll be honest, stacked with other shine or rose bracelets I’m sure it will look so good! But definitely not worth the price!

Iā€™m still very intrigued with this concept. I wonder if it will make the ā€œbangleā€ more comfortable since the snake chain gives it added flexibility? I want to get my hands on one to play around with it.

It’s really weird! It feels like a broken bangle to me LOL. I’m sure if you visit your local concept store or give them a call, they already have the pref-fall in. That way you can play with it too. Like I said, I’m sure this will look awesome layered with other bracelets, but I don’t see this working as a stand alone charm bracelet. You never know though, I always change my mind!

Great review! I won’t be buying this bracelet! Your pics of how the bracelet looks apart is definitely weird! Plus the price point is too high!

Thanks for the review, it was very helpful šŸ˜Š If I get this bangle, I will defiantly wear it plain without charms. It looks like it would be hard to hold the sides together to clasp.

I agree with you, why? It looks like a mess that will break easily. It reminds me of elastic waist pants that are only elastic in the back! šŸ¤£ That being said I am sure some of you will come up with neat designs and I look forward to seeing them. I have seen the shine & rose charms in person, again I ask why? Why are you paying good money for something that might not last? 14k gold wins hands down every time for me – it has such a beauty to it.

Can’t wait to see the rest of pre-fall in person and the main fall collection!

HAHA those pants!! Yes i can see the similarities! OMG I’m with you! Real gold all the way or real silver. I have one shine piece and the only reason I bought it was because the design was so pretty so I gave in knowing one day it might turn all silver, which I’m still ok with. One day I want to buy myself a gold bangle from Pandora though! THat is the ultimate goal.

I came back to your post to look at the bracelet again.
Maybe like the elastic pants I mentioned above, that are super comfy,
maybe this bracelet will be more comfy for some or maybe easier
to slide over your hand? I am all about comfort!

I dont know about that, I feel like what if it stretches so much it makes the bangle look weird? All I can picture is the bangle section looking good then having this weird snake chain thingy hanging loosely in the middle.

I tried these bracelets on in the store. I think they are pretty in a stack with a two-tone bracelet. I agree from both a weight and an aesthetic standpoint that charms will stretch the bracelet and arenā€™t as pretty showcased on these bracelets. But maybe one lightweight dangle and a couple of lightweight clips would work. Iā€™m not swooning and running out to get them at full price (I agree the latest increase in bracelet prices is beyond ridiculous) but I will probably add them to my collection at some point. Thanks for the review!

    • Jahndra says:

No problem! Glad I didn’t scare you off from them! I really do think layered they will look really pretty with other bracelets!

    • Deborah Craig says:

Iā€™ve changed my mind. Tried them on in the store again, and I think this might be an epic fail. Even without charms, this bangle doesnā€™t hang well. I even tried putting clips at the edges of the snake chain, which the sales consultant didnā€™t recommend. We did it just for a second, and that doesnā€™t help to stabilize the chain section either. The new open bangles are rigid with the snake chain look. I like them much better.

  7. DebbieJ says:

Thanks for such an honest review! I agree it seems a rather flawed design but would look pretty for light wear in a stack. Sadly I donā€™t think Pandora is designing jewellery to last nowadays. I wonā€™t be getting it as I think Shine is priced too high for plated, so I always get silver, but I donā€™t think I would get a silver version either. It is a bit weird isnā€™t it!

    • Jahndra says:

It’s very weird LOL. Doesn’t seem to sit well on a wrist either. I heard a couple of years ago that they wanted to introduce a new concept to their existing collection twice a year, which I feel is very ambitious. The reflections and the floating lockets were part of that whole concept. At this point I fear they are running out of ideas.
