Sneak Peek: Themes That Will Be Featured in Pandora’s 2019 Pre Fall and Fall Collections…Warning, No Photos!

Hello all! Can I just say how good it feels to be back to blogging again? Even if it’s just for tidbits of information on upcoming sales and promos!  I do miss my reviews, and still plan on getting back on that as soon as I can, but let’s get back on topic when it comes to the whole reason of this post!! SPOILER ALERT: I do not have any pictures of these future releases, I was shown this info out of confidence, so I was not allowed to take pictures, but that can’t stop me from trying to describe to a T what I saw. So please be prepared to use your imagination and I will do my best to borrow from google images in order to try to better illustrate what I saw.

PRE- FALL 2019:

Dinosaurs Make  A Comeback!

The only thing that really stuck in my mind was that Pandora will be bringing back dinosaur charms! Three of them to be exact, two dangles, and one non dangle. One dangle will be all sterling silver, while the second one will be covered in cubic zirconia. If memory serves, they will be dangled from a pendant type bail, versus the thicker charm bails we are more familiar with. As for the non dangle charm, I think it will be a button type charm with an enamel dinosaur on it, but please take all of what I say with a grain of salt, as my memory isn’t what it used to be, and there were TONS of things I had to try to remember. The dinosaur looked like a T-Rex to me, once it comes out, you can let me know what you think it looks like.

Three Point Bangle!

Ok, it’s not called a three point bangle, but that’s what I started calling it, in order to remember what it looked like. I completely forgot the name of it, but picture a hybrid bangle and snake chain combo! Imagine a regular smooth Pandora bangle, now split that into thirds, the middle center of it, the middle third part, instead of it being a bangle, imagine a snake chain attached to that. Something along the lines of this:

Click to see an enlarged photo. So obviously it won’t look exactly like this, but I tried to photoshop and composite since I think it’s a bit hard to imagine. The place where the bangle becomes a snake chain will have joins so you can detach it I think. I’m also going to assume that the snake chain will be rigid and not flexible, but I can be wrong, we won’t know until it’s released. Unfortunately this is all I could remember from Pre-fall since my mind was completely consumed by Fall!

FALL 2019:

Pandora Me Bracelets:

Ok so are you ready??!?! Because Fall will not be like anything we’ve seen before, let me tell you!! If I felt like Pandora has been straying away from their core customers and collectors, get ready because in my opinion, Pandora is definitely not going back to two tone or abstract charms, and they are going to tear down that relationship with a wrecking ball!

First up is the new bracelet concept, called Pandora Me, and the new face of this new concept is Millie Bobbie Brown, one of the stars of Stranger Things (I don’t watch this show, but I know who she is). The concept of the Pandora Me bracelet consists of several charm bracelets, and very tiny petite dangle charms, very very similar to James Avery charm bracelets. Let me explain. The main Pandora Me bracelet looks extremely similar to this James Avery charm bracelet sans the safety chain but with rounded rectangle links:

In case you are not familiar with James Avery, they are jewelry company that started in 1954 and focused on Christian jewelry. I don’t know if they are known for their charm bracelets, but they do offer other jewelry such as rings, bracelets, pendants, necklaces, and earrings, and they’ve branched out of just Christian jewelry as well. Here is also a video on how to place charms onto a James Avery bracelet:

If you are wondering why I am showing you how to put charms onto a James Avery bracelet, it’s because…you guessed it, the new Pandora Me bracelet will be featuring links that bend in and you slide the pendant or charm on just  like it’s shown in the video above. In the aforementioned example of the James Avery bracelet I have provided, imagine the Pandora Me bracelet will have a round clasp, with I think three rounded rectangle links with a twisted rope design, and the rest are smooth. The twisted rope links are the ones where one will be able to add the tiny dangle charms to.

What do we think of that? I am going to assume there will be a lot of mixed feelings about this new concept. That is not to say that Pandora is stopping their Moments line, trust me, they are not, I saw plenty of Moments charms that will be churned out for the Fall line. I assume that this is Pandora’s way of targeting a younger demographic, but what do you think?

Secondary Pandora Me Bracelets:

I also saw a Pandora Me bangle and snake chain, but let me tell you, all they are are rebranded Essence bangles and Essence snake chains. In the pictures I saw, these bracelets looked a little thicker than the Essence bracelets, but then I saw a note stating that Essence charms could still be used on the “new” Pandora Me bracelets, so I’ll leave you to decide for yourself where these “new” bracelets came from LOL.  They will be introducing spacers to go onto the Essence…err I mean Pandora Me bangle in order to separate the dangle charms.

Tiny Dangle Charms and Earrings:

Moving onto the petite tiny dangles (Sorry I keep calling them petite, because I think that is what they were called in the catalog I saw, but now I can’t remember), they will be an assortment of cutesy designs featuring: a happy face, a cactus, a moon, shooting star, unicorn, a flower, cherries, a horseshoe, and all seeing eye, an arrow, a music note, and plenty more things that I can’t recall anymore. I should also mention that there will also be single stud earrings sold with this release and they will be in the same design as the charms. The single studs I guess will be sold in the hopes of encouraging asymmetrical earrings which Pandora has been promoting more and more in latest collections. I also figure it’s to encourage more sales for single piercings, in case you have more than one piercing in your ear, you can now choose however many studs you want, you will not be stuck having to buy two pairs of the same earrings, now you’ll be able to buy three for example.

Safety Pin Brooch:

Does anyone remember making safety pin brooches back in the day? Well, apparently Pandora does, because they are also introducing a new sterling silver safety pin brooch with a heart shaped cap where the pin end would go. You will be able to attach the dainty charms onto the pin, and secure it to your clothes, or wherever you want to put a pin in it hahahah pardon the pun.

Essence

I made a small sub menu here on Essence to let you all know that Essence will be officially discontinued August 2019. So if there are any Essence charms that are still around that are still on your wish list, now is the time to get them before they get retired in August.

Bella Bot and Friends…aka The Pandoras:

I’m about to date myself here on how old I am, but does anyone remember Sanrio? You know that Japanese company that produced Hello Kitty and Friends? Well Pandora is starting something similar to that, but instead of Hello Kitty and Friends, we have Bella Bot and friends, and apparently they’ve started a punk rock group called The Pandoras. And no, I am not kidding. The Pandoras feature Bella Bot as lead singer, Bruno the unicorn on guitar, and I can’t remember who’s on drums. These charms will all be dangle versions of the charms we are already familiar with, but they will be wearing nifty little rocker outfits and makeup!

We also have more friends joining Bella, one is Pippo the flying pig (Now where have I heard the name Pippo before…), Nino the Hedgehog, and Boo the Ghost. These new friends have little biographies, like birthdays, places of birth and favorite hobbies. Again I’m not kidding. And that is all I have to say about that LOL.

Pandora O Collection:

The Pandora O collection seems to be a different way to wear your Moments charms. All they are, are a much smaller snake chain, rigid, made into a perfectly round O shape, and it’s a pendant. Imagine a charm holder pendant like this:

But of course, like I said, perfectly round. It will come in a small and large, in all finishes: silver, Pandora Rose and Shine.

Oak Leaf Collection:

This one is by far my most favorite part of the release!! Again no pictures, but there will be a beautiful sterling silver Oak leaf pendant, (it looked like a pretty big sized pendant too), Oak leaf dangle earrings in shine, a double finger ring with a leaf design covered in cubic zirconias, and some amazing glass leaf jewelry! I don’t know if the glass will be Murano glass, but there is a collection accentuating a Cerise colored leaf in a pendant, earrings, and a ring, all in the Pandora Rose finish, wish I thought looked amazing! I’m not a huge, huge fan of the Pandora Rose, but this collection I was drooling over! The Cerise colored glass leaf!! UGH I couldn’t get enough of it! I hope it’s not a limited edition but I get the feeling it will be. Crossing my fingers that it won’t be!

Miscellaneous Info:

Please do not think that Pandora is doing away with their Moment’s line or charms, I saw plenty of new Moment’s charms that are included in this release, it’s was just too much for me to remember! For example, the two that stuck in my mind was a Chinese dumpling or Bao charm, it was too cute and made me hungry LOL. There’s also a rumor of a Notre Dame charm, when I read that, I perked up because if Pandora makes one, I will definitely be buying it!

Conclusion:

I have mixed feelings on the previews I saw. The Pandora Me although a bit juvenile, I liked the main bracelet plain. It would be a cool way to wear a Pandora bracelet without wearing the bulky charms if one day you don’t feel like wearing a charm bracelet. If I were to buy this bracelet, I would only buy the moon and shooting star dangles to go with it, as the other charms did not appeal to me at all. The safety pin brooch is cute, but I fear I may be too old to be able to pull wearing something like this. I also feel like this is Pandora’s way of becoming edgier, as this is what I read from Wikipedia when I googled safety pins:

Culture

During the emergence of punk rock in the late seventies, safety pins became associated with the genre, its followers and fashion.[11] Some claim the look was taken originally from Richard Hell whom the British punks saw in pictures, and whose style they adopted.[12] This is disputed by a number of artists from the first wave of British punks, most notably Johnny Rotten, who insists that safety pins were originally incorporated for more practical reasons, for example, to remedy “the arse of your pants falling out”.[13] British punk fans, after seeing the clothing worn by such punk forerunners, then incorporated safety pins into their own wardrobe as clothing decoration or as piercings, shifting the purpose of the pins from practicality to fashion. The safety pin subsequently has become an image associated with punk rock by media and popular culture outlets.[14]

Interesting to say the least. In some cultures a safety pin is a form of good luck, and in most recent political climate, wearing safety pins has become a symbol of solidarity, again from googling safety pins, I came across this quote:

They wear the pin to show support for “women, people of color, and other marginalized groups.”

I thought that was a very nice sentiment, so without getting too political, I will just say, if I were to buy this brooch, I think I would do it more for that reason than to wear charms from.

Getting back to my conclusion, I am definitely not interested in The Pandora’s rock group, or Bella Bot’s friends, neither am I interested in the Pandora O collection, or the Pre-Fall. The only thing I am interested in will be the Oak leaf collection and maybe the Pandora Me after I’ve seen it up close.  There is of course plenty of rings, earrings, and bangles that will be released as well but like I said, it was way too much to remember!

What did you think of my blog post? Was it at least a little bit helpful in visualizing what will be coming up in the Fall? Do you think you will like the new things that will be coming out? I tend to be wish washy, sometimes I’ll love it online, then see it in real life and think meh, or vice versa, hate it online and totally fall in love with it IRL. Let me know in the comments down below!

Wow, this is all very interesting! Way back in the ‘60s or ‘70s my mom had a charm bracelet where you clipped on meaningful little charms. It sounds like Pandora is trying to make this concept relevant again and I don’t think I’ll be interested, but never say never! Really, the only thing I will need to buy is the Bao charm as a souvenir of eating them in Shanghai. As for the Pandoras singing group? No comment! LOL!

    • Jahndra says:

Wow you are being very kind I think LOL. I did not make my first impressions known on the blog as I tried to keep a level head and be unbiased, but I think you are right about the reviving the charm bracelets. Like I said I don’t mind the “new” concept, might even buy a charm or two or wear it naked, but it is all very different for sure!

  2. Tammi Brown says:

Oh my goodness!!! Everything in this post made me smile and cannot wait to see everything in person. I am old enough to remember the charm holder concept!!! Thank you so much for letting us all know before anyone else did. I wish I could see everything now!!
I am super excited for Bella and friends!! Stop the madness Pandora…lol.

    • Jahndra says:

I’m glad I was able to brighten up your day! I think this collection will not be everyone’s cup of tea, but you just can’t please everyone right? I’m super excited as well to see the new collection, especially because for me I did not love the Spring or Summer. I will try in the future to do this again!

  3. Deborah Craig says:

Wow! They are really “evolving” whether that is good or bad depends on your perspective.

The Me Bracelet concept reminds me of the first charm bracelet I ever owned. I was 8-9 and my grandmother gave me one with one charm, a music note, already attached. When I bought subsequent charms at the local jewelry store, the store employees would fasten the charm onto your bracelet. Fast forward to adulthood. I fell in love with Pandora precisely because you could rearrange your own bracelets WITHOUT a trip to the jewelry store. At least the new bracelet will have the moveable links so we can add and rearrange charms ourselves.

The safety pin concept I like. Perhaps because I used to wear a lot of wrap skirts and I fastened the overlay with a decorative safety pin. I still have a few of those pins in a box somewhere. Lol!

I’m looking forward to seeing the new glass. Dinosaurs are not my personal thing, but done well they will be fun. The “hybrid” chain/bangle bracelet might be really cool.

I’m sure with the numbers of Moments charms that have already been released it’s hard to come up with fresh takes. I like that they are experimenting with fresh concepts. I now very much look forward to what’s coming next.

    • Jahndra says:

Agreed! They are evolving for sure!

Yes it seems the Me type of bracelet has been around for awhile, so it’s not a new concept but new to Pandora for sure! It’s strange, they used to pride themselves for having the European style charm bracelets, and now they are definitely pulling away from that it seems. I hope the European style charms don’t go down the way of the Italian charm bracelets.

I like the safety pin concept as well, totally cute!

I also can’t wait to see the leaf collection, that for sure is right up my alley!

Tiffany actually has a similar charm bracelet concept to the Pandora Me 🙂 My first “high end” charm bracelet was from Thomas Sabo and the charms on those all clip on and off because they have little lobster clasps. I don’t wear it as much because it was a gift from my grandmother and I’m afraid of losing it HAHA 😂

I lost hope until you said there would be a dumpling charm. I recently purchased the Spring Sparkling skull with a help of someone overseas because it didn’t release here, so I think the new collections still do hold some allure for me. Suddenly i also find myself wanting the Blush radiant hearts 😭 But my love still lies with old TT, I hope they release even a small collection that’s a “throwback” because I do think that styled correctly, old and new charms can definitely go together.

Mostly I’ve been craving another Clogau charm (TT Silver and 9ct rose gold), though because I know the humidity where I am will kill Pandora Rose.

    • Jahndra says:

I didn’t know Tiffany had something similar, it seems a lot of jewelry companies like to “borrow” concepts from one another! I don’t blame you for not wearing it too often. I have a bracelet that my dad gave me and I once I thought I had lost it, but found it again so I hardly ever wear it now!

I am with you with the throwback. They did bring back the Love Pods by renaming them Modern Love Pods. A pale comparison from the original but they did bring some of it back.

  5. Ann JK says:

This was such a fun read. 🙂 I am excited to see the new collection. I hope you have the opportunity to preview collections in the future, so you can you can blog a pre-teaser. Honestly, this post was better than pictures. 🙂 The Bella Bot Punk band (what???)…..I am not sure I will be purchasing those charms. I am sad to hear that the Essence charms are being discontinued/rebranded. Hopefully I can grab some more Essence charms and bracelets this Thursday during the June clearance sale.

    • Jahndra says:

Thank you very much! I was unsure of how this post was going to be received as I don’t have any affiliation with Pandora and do not get previews, but I am extremely happy that everyone really seems to like it a lot! I also hope to be able to get unofficial previews in order to be able to give you all a pre-teaser as you put it.

Yes the Essence retiring is very sad, but I guess we could kind of see it coming. I plan to stock up on a couple more bracelets! And OMG yes do I agree with you about the punk band, trust me, in the interest of not sounding straight up snarky I reserved my opinion on this small part of the collection LOL

    • Gleice Rudelli says:

Great post, I have a Pandora Essence bracelet and was wondering if Pandora Me charms would fit on the Essence. Judging by the fact that they are both small, but I haven’t seen the Me in person yet to know for sure.

I love the concept of mismatched earrings.

  6. Emily says:

Thank you so much, Jahndra. What a great read through, thank you for sharing! Some of these new collections do not sound like ones I’ll be racing to Pandora for. But they sound interesting. The Pandoras band… That made me laugh! I can just picture the artwork and charms. I won’t be investing in that, but that’s pretty funny and cute. Very Hello Kitty!

The Pandora friend, Boo the Ghost sounds cute and a Hedgehog? Those will most likely be added to my collection.

Ahh, Stranger Things! I’m a huge fan, I wish Pandora would do a ST charm, lol. But yay, I love Millie and excited to the promotional material for the new bracelet. Very James Avery!

All your info really has me intrigued. I cannot wait!

    • Jahndra says:

Aww you’re very welcome, I’m so happy everyone is enjoying this post. I know right about the Pandoras? I’m like what are they thinking. I think I remember who’s on drums now, it’s the teddy bear, I forget his or her name, it’s either Theodore or Dora the teddy bear. Oh and Bruno is sporting a lightning bolt makeup on one of his eyes, very a la David Bowie LOL!

  7. Heather S. says:

How on earth did you remember all of that!
Very interesting post. I did not mind not having photos, descriptions were good enough to set my brain wondering.
Bao charm sounds like fun – I would work that into my Disney bracelets celebrating the first Pixar short, Bao
directed by a woman, Domee Shi, who than won the Oscar for it! And who doesn’t love dumplings!
I am looking forward to the moments charms, obviously Disney. I am guessing more Frozen, I hope!
The other “new concept” items do not interest me. I have my traditional charm bracelet from when I was a kid and love it.
I do not want another one.

Thanks again for being a Pandora super sleuth! Can’t wait to actually see the collections.

    • Jahndra says:

I may have secretly been taking some notes on my phone LOL…my brain is not that smart anymore to remember all of that, I tried to focus on the bigger parts of the release too. I hope they do release the Bao charm, I feel like either it will be a country exclusive, or they can choose not to release certain charms. I never knew that of the Pixar short film, I loved watching it, made me sad, but then that’s life right?

You know I barely remember seeing the Disney. Look for a Flounder and Sebastian charm from the Little Mermaid though!

I do too! Mine was started my by then boyfriend, now husband and I’ve since changed out the bracelet twice to accommadate the fact that I still add a charm here and there.

      • Heather S. says:

I just said that today at a shop n shop, watch them come out with more Little Mermaid or a Dory since I bought the Ocean Life charm on sale. Haha, that is what I get for being impatient!

        I don’t wear mine anymore because I’ve grown a bit – not lengthwise – widthwise! 🤣😂

  8. Veronica says:

I work at Pandora and I got to see most of these products in person when a Pandora rep came to town. The only ones I haven’t seen are the Pandora “Me” collection and the safety pin concepts. I’ve seen everything else.

  9. PRgrl says:

It seems that Pandora is reinventing the wheel!
I’m not into the new Pandora Me bracelet at all but I do like the dinosaurs 🦕🦖 and the oak leafs collection as you describe it.

So sad there are no more two tone charms, what’s going on?

    • Jahndra says:

How funny, someone said the exact same thing you did, about reinventing the wheel! I don’t know, they are completely going down a whole different route! Maybe one day they will go back to their roots, (hopefully!)

  10. Jen says:

Oh, thank you so much for the info. Keep it coming! I love reading about whats coming out next. I don’t think I will be buying the safety pin or dangle designs or the silly Pandoras, unless my daughter likes it. I truely think Pandora has been really working hard to sell to kids, teens and young adults. With the new stuff and also the last spring, summer, etc. But, that is ok, as long as they keep making the moments line and the more classic styles. And I think they will, but unfortunately I think the two-tone, 14k gold, and real stones are going away for good. Pandora has extended their sale til Sunday so I may go back and get some more essence /two-tone charms !

    • Mar says:

I agree with you and I’m going to really miss the jewellery they used to make, for women. They seem to be doing a lot of children’s characters now that is mainly for little boys and not girls and adding more enamel. I do like the globe dangle etc , charms that have meaning

      • Jahndra says:

I agree with you Mar, that’s why I said I felt like Pandora was taking a wrecking ball to their relationship with their core collectors and fans because none of this is targeted to them, but more for teenagers and children.

    • Jahndra says:

Yes I completely agree with you!!! However I think they are done with their classic charms, which is a real real shame. No more two tones or gold I think! It’s all about the plated stuff now.

  11. Marie says:

    I need two tone! Classy!
Not more children’s characters , don’t mind a little Disney as long as it’s girly.

  12. Aria says:

This frustrates me. I really dislike dangles because they get snagged on stuff, but it seems like that is all that has been coming out recently.

    • Jahndra says:

Yes! I don’t mind dangles, but if I wanted dangles, then I would just collect the regular non European charms. I have a whole bracelet full of those!

  13. Nancy says:

Best news ever! I have wanted this style bracelet for a long time. I have Pandora everything, but I wanted this style. I can’t wait to purchase one.

  14. Nancy says:

I have been waiting for Pandora to come up with something like this bracelet for a long time .I am so excited! I can’t wait to to purchase one.

  15. Aline says:

Hello. Interesting this Pandora Autumn 2019 collection. Do we happen to have fairytale jewelry collection? Or jewelry with filigree designs? It could have a Moment Buddha Charm and silver pendant lotus flower. Thanks.

    • Jahndra says:

I believe their last spring collection was very fairy tale oriented, or perhaps it was last year’s spring collection. No filigree designs are coming out that I know of, and no new Buddha charm to replace the old one that got retired. A silver lotus design would be so lovely though!

      • Aline Vasconcelos says:

Hello. You hit the Pandora Spring 2018 and Autumn 2018 collection by far were my favorite. I would like to know if in this Pandora Autumn 2018 collection there will be charms, earrings or rings only in sterling silver with openwork details or arabesques?
I miss some charms like Fairy, Gnome, Mandala, Reliquaries, Charms with drop-cut crystals. I don’t like shine, rose or pave zircon jewelry. Thank you.

  16. Leah says:

I gotta say… I’m pretty disappointed with the sound of this collection.

The only things that have me intrigued are the moments charms they’ll be releasing and rings, earrings, pendants etc.

I’m also looking forward to seeing the new Oak leaf collection and seeing what that entails.

Definitely not interested in the new bracelet concepts…

Pandora is so good because they are so different and unique, the moment they start moving away from what makes them Pandora is when they will become just a generic jewelry chain.

All this is my humble opinion 😁

    • Jahndra says:

No I agree with you completely, it’s like they are losing their way, or have lost their way already. I feel like they’ve been confused on what made Pandora Pandora. Hopefully one day they’ll go back to their roots, using real gold and real gemstones. I’m also not in love with the new bracele concepts but I’ll reserve my official opinion until I see it in real life. I like how the bracelet looks on it’s own, maybe I’ll add one or two charms, but that’s it, I don’t plan on collecting much from the Me concept.
