For today’s post I decided to review the Trollbeads Ring of Change mostly because my fellow trollie friends (thanks Amanda and Martha!) suggested I do! Now this ring comes from a haul that I have yet to showcase so I’m breaking with tradition, I usually like to showcase my hauls via YouTube videos or at least a post here on the page first, then review, but I’ve gotten impatient with myself and will review the ring before showcasing the haul LOL.
First Impression:
OMG at first I didn’t know what to think of this ring, it was so weird looking. I couldn’t quite grasp how this ring would work, how would the bead not fall off? How could one wear it without it feeling weird? I have to admit this was an impulse buy and I’m glad I got it after all because it’s a fun ring to own.
Review:
I believe this ring came out with this year’s small Trollbeads Valentine collection for 2016. It consists of a small open-ended ring with an elongated bar and what looks like a nail head at the top of the bar. The concept (if you are not aware already), is to insert a bead at the curved area where the ring is open, and move the bead all the way to the end, then wear the ring around your finger as normal, with the bead nestled in between your fingers. One can wear either a silver bead or a glass one, or even several beads at once if the ring is large enough. Below are several photos of me just playing around with the ring:
Here I illustrate what the ring looks like without anything on, a bit funky if you ask me LOL. However I can’t emphasize enough how comfortable this ring is, it’s like I’m not wearing anything at all. Here now are photos of me wearing the ring with actual beads:
Wearing both a silver and a glass bead was still comfortable, however I tried to wear two glass beads and it didn’t work out too well. I was unable to wear it all the way down my finger:
I wonder if buying a larger size one could put two glass beads on the ring? One thing to note, while messing with this ring and taking photos, I noticed that because this ring has a high shine and polished finish (not unlike the bangle) it’s very scratch prone. Here are some snapshots with just silvers:
By the way, I love this look! Love how the flowers pair well together. And speaking of which, the below pic shows me wearing the ring with just the Rose of June, however what you can’t see is that it jiggles a bit, keep reading to see a short video I made showing the different aspects of the ring.
I hope this video is helpful.
As a quick side note I want to apologize if you see any gunk underneath my nails, I was trying my hand at gardening and didn’t quite remove all the soil! 😝
So as you can see, the stoppers do not fit on the ring, which surprised me. I just assumed that they would, but it makes sense as the ring is not the same thickness as the bangle is. It is a bit disappointing as the stoppers would help with some beads in avoiding the jiggling.
This photo from my good friend Martha shows her wearing the Ring of Change with the new decorational stopper beads. She confirmed that they indeed do not stay put on the ring and should be worn as regular beads.
This ring also comes in different sizes, the receipt from where I bought this ring states it’s a 6 – 7 sized ring. Upon checking the Trollbeads website I see this is not the case as the sizes run in smaller ranges. Mine is most likely the 7 1/4 to 7 1/2. This makes sense as the small opening of the ring allows for extra room and therefore the size can go up or down. This is a nice feature as us women tend to swell sometimes whether it’s hot outside or it’s other monthly issues LOL.
In Conclusion:
I find this ring quirky and different and very comfortable to wear. It is hugely diverse in how you can wear it, and the ways to wear it are unlimited as it all depends on the creativity of the wearer. The price of this ring is $76 which I think is a bit much for just a curved piece of plain silver, and I would highly recommend one goes to a Trollbeads store if you are lucky enough to have one nearby as one really should try it on before buying. It takes the guess work out of figuring out what size to wear, especially if you want to wear two beads at once.
I hope you’ve found this review helpful, let me know what you think if you own this ring as well. Are there any other points that I missed that you would like to discuss? Please comment down below and let’s talk about it!

Awesome review! I really like the ring with the flower silver beads you’ve used. I’m so happy to know someone has it so we can share ideas!
Yes!!! We can inspire each other! Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery right?
Brilliant review, really comprehensive. I feel after reading this I understand how the ring works and the video is enormously helpful.
I like the ring and if it were less money I would consider buying it. I just think Trollbeads have charged way over the top pricing for a little bit of silver. I also don’t have any dealers close by and I like to try on rings.
Thanks! I was afraid it wasn’t comprehensive enough! And I totally agree on the price, it’s a little inflated in my opinion. Perhaps they are charging for the Trollbeads name?
Great review, many thanks! Very helpful, especially the info about the stoppers (oh they are called spacers now aren’t they?) and the jiggling beads!
I love the silver flowers on your designs, especially the Chrysanthemum(? Is that the right bead?) which seems to be made for this ring; also love it with the blue diamond. That’s my favourite design. I think I’d want to try it on in a shop – especially for sizing – luckily I have a troll day with friends coming up this month!

I never remember now, stoppers/spacers! LOL and yes you are correct, it’s the November Chrysanthemum. I agree it was made for this ring! Let me know what you think when you try it on.
