Review: Now from X Jewellery

Today I will be reviewing a piece I got awhile ago, sometime last year, probably during a sale LOL, but I figured it was appropriate as Valentine’s Day is almost here and this is a heart themed link after all. This piece is a double link and it’s called Now.

First Impression:

I think this was an impulse buy or it must have been a sale because I don’t quite remember what it was about this link that drew me in. It may have been because I needed a double link or maybe I bought this because it had hearts on it, whatever the reason why, I have to say although I like the link, I’m not totally in love with it.

Review:

This link measures 1 inch or 25mm and is a double link with sort of a full twist. I say sort of because it’s not flat like the Protect link and it doesn’t have a full twist like the Flower link, it’s shaped a bit more like a figure eight so it’s kind of in the middle, I hope the pictures I took help to illustrate this:

Like I had stated before, there isn’t much to this link, I do like it because of the hearts motif, but it’s not one of my absolute favorites. I think the online image is a bit deceiving because you can’t tell that it doesn’t have a full twist, and when  you turn it on it’s side, the hearts look a bit odd, to me they just look like globs of silver or teeth even! They look like little molars! I know, that’s kind of a crazy thing to say, am I the only one who thinks this?

Here is Now next to the Lover’s Bond:

As always I like to use the Lover’s Bond as a standard to all other links since I like the size of it and I use it to compare it to other double links in size. This way if you have the Lover’s Bond and like it as much as I do, it’s easier for you to compare sizes before you buy.

Here it is incorporated into my bracelet:

Although this may not be my all time favorite link, I do like it more incorporated into this bracelet. This is one of my go to pieces as I am not one to dismantle my bracelets all the time, once I finish one it tends to stay connected. I like that it forms part of the pattern that I have for this bracelet and on a small side note, I’m starting to like an all metal X bracelet more than using the rubber links which is not a good thing for me because as I’m starting to work on my latest bracelet, I’m thinking it may turn into a full silver one! Let’s hope I can force myself to be patient and just stick to the rubber links for now!

In Conclusion:

I’m pretty sure I bought this link as part of a sale because I don’t see myself shelling out $63 for this link. Perhaps it was a gift, I don’t remember, I’ll have to search my YouTube videos and see if it pops up anywhere there so I can remember. This link is also offered in the bronze finish which irks me a bit because if I would have just waited a little longer I would’ve spent less buying the bronze one over the silver one. Oh well, I’m still very happy with how my bracelet turned out, and that is one of the reason why I love X so much, it’s so versatile I can always change things up whenever I feel like it!

I hope you’ve enjoyed this review and found it informative, until next time Happy Hunting!

I can completely see the molar connection! I agree, the link isn’t necessarily eye-catching on its own, but it does look really nice on your bracelet 🙂 Odd how it’s noticeably shorter than the Lovers Bond link.

I seem to go for all metal or all rubber bracelets. I have a few links that haven’t found a home yet because I can’t get the mix of rubber and metal to look right.

    • I totally understand, I have a bracelet right now with only three double links on them and the rest rubber links and I feel like something is missing, I might have to add more metal to it!
