Review: Flower from X Jewellery

For today’s post I will be reviewing the Flower by X Jewellery, and I have to say this wasn’t initially on my wishlist but they more I looked at it, the more I like it so I decided to go for it. Also I couldn’t wait to post it on my Instagram account so  you may see this link pop back up again.

First Impression:

At first this link didn’t grab my attention much, I thought it was kind of plain and I couldn’t identify which flower it was which kind of irked me so I kept passing on it. However the more I saw it showcased on other people’s bracelets, the more intrigued I became.

Review:

The link measures 17/18 of an inch or 24mm and is a double link with a full twist. It’s also one sided so if this link turns on your wrist you will not be able to see the flower detail on it. The center of the flower also has some oxidization in order to bring out the detail, but I like how they did the finish. At least on my link the oxidation looks concentrated at the center and it gently fades out into the more polished silver, very nice detail indeed.

I have to say out of all of the reviews I’ve done so far, this one resembles the online image the most. Here is the backside of it:

As I was saying in my first impression, it irked me that I couldn’t identify what flower this is, and I wish it had five or six petals instead of four because at least this way I could say it was a plumeria or one of my favorite flowers, the star gazer lily. With only four petals it’s a little more boring for me, but still nice nonetheless.

Here is the Flower next to the Lover’s Bond:

As always I like to use the Lover’s Bond as a standard to all other links since I like the size of it and I use it to compare it to other double links in size. I wish all of the double links were the same size as the Lover’s Bond, because it’s such a nice solid piece.

Here it is incorporated in my current bracelet:

Unwittingly this bracelet turned into almost a full metal bracelet which was an eventual goal of mine, and happened much faster than planned. This bracelet is only two double links away from being completed and I’m pretty happy at how it’s turning out because not only is it all metal but it’s also two toned.  A couple of days ago on Instagram I expressed a desire to maybe one day make a whole bracelet with just all Flower links, I think it would looks so AWESOME, however this project would probably take years to complete, but dreaming is free right?

In Conclusion:

I’m glad I bought this link after all, I think it’s a nice addition to my bracelet, it is very feminine and sophisticated even at a hefty $72 price tag! I almost think it doesn’t really go with this bracelet, so I might change it out as soon as I buy X again. This bracelet doesn’t really have a theme, again true to my Trollbeads OCD I go by patterns instead of themes. In any case, I think it would be very hard to do a theme with X, it would have to be more metaphorical if one constructed an X bracelet based on a theme. Now that I think about it, most of the already pre-made bracelets on their website have themes or names, perhaps next time I visit their website I’ll pay more attention and see if these themes are metaphors!

As always I hope you’ve enjoyed this review and found it informative, until next time Happy Hunting!
