What I’m Wearing: Trollbeads Greens and Spherical Beads

First of all I’d like to say thank you to those of you who reached out to me to offer kind words of support, my family suffered a tragedy and the loss of several family members and I went to offer support and comfort. I am officially back and ready to get back into my hobby which is to collect beads and design bracelets.

Today’s post is about my greens and silvers. On my last Trollbeads mini haul I was complaining about how my latest bracelet lacked a theme or idea. I usually have a theme or an idea of what I want my bracelet to look like, this usually evolves into something different but for the most part is stays true to my original idea. I like bracelets to be as balanced as possible and with Trollbeads it’s not too hard to do. This brings me to my latest creation of my green beads and round silvers:

On my latest visit to my nearest dealer, I was able to examine several beads close up and realized I did not like them as much as I thought, let me explain. When I started collecting my green beads, my initial idea was to have them mixed in with my family’s birth months, with the green beads in between the flowers. My husband even bought me the March daffodil (which I’m planning to exchange now), but as I was able to look at the October birth flower, I HATED it. I couldn’t even convince myself to buy it. It’s rather on the small side and looks so much different than the rest of the flowers. So as a result, I decided to abandon the project and start a new one. As I played with the Trollbeads bracelet designer the bracelet still looks nice, but I know for a fact that the October birth flower is not as big as it looks on the designer, this is what it would’ve looked like:

It’s not quite as similar as that, I had to sub in some beads that I have that are now retired so it looks a little weird. It is unfortunate that I had to ditch this project, it would’ve been nice to represent my family members by their birth flower and be able to wear it on my wrist. So as I had to discard this idea, this left me with all these green beads and no idea on what my next project would be.  This was until I started examining the orphan beads I had on hand.

As I have been coming across different sales or promotions I’ve gathered several round or sphere shaped beads, unintentionally I have to say, and I noticed I still have five or six more on my wish list. So I figured what the heck, why not put them in place of the birth flowers instead? The result is a perfectly balanced bracelet, that I can now sub out the greens for any other colored bead I have. I’m currently working on expanding my blues and turquoise beads, and now have a bracelet I don’t mind dismantling from time to time depending on what mood I’m in or what color my outfit is. Also this is my first Trollbeads bracelet where I don’t have a focal point or center bead to work from, it’s just one round silver, then glass, one round silver then glass again.

Usually once I finish a bracelet I tend not to change it out, with this bracelet, I won’t mind changing out the colored glass beads at all!

Bead Index: Two Sides to Everything, Aventurine, Spot, Green Wave, Joyful, Green Stripes, Heart Ball, Lake Eye, and Live Love & Forgive.

This also encourages me to keep collecting, as now I have other round beads I have my eye on, and wonder what it will look like once it’s finished. I hope you’ve enjoyed this post, I love sharing my creations with my readers, as always, you can post to my Facebook wall or tag me on Instagram to show me your creations, I always enjoy seeing what other people cook up. Wish me luck when it comes to shopping for new beads, and until the next time Happy Hunting!

I’m so sorry to hear about your family tragedy, Jahndra. I hope that you are all doing okay. Your green beads are so pretty – they look especially gorgeous in the sunlight! I only have one green murano bead, but I am getting increasingly inspired to do a green-themed bracelet. <3

    • Thank you so much Ellie, it means a lot. Yes it came as quite a shock as they were super young, not even in their twenties. But life goes on, and we must push through in order to honor their lives. Thank you once again for your kind words. I do quite enjoy this bracelet, but then again I like all of my Trollbeads bracelet, you should consider starting one 😉

Oh, that’s awful. I’m so sorry. I do admire your courage, though, and I’ll be thinking of your family.
I do keep meaning to start a Trollbeads bracelet and have come close several times when there’s been a promo on… there are so many pretty glass beads that I’d like. Maybe one will go on my Christmas list 😉
