Review: Pandora Expression Watch

Today I will be talking about the very obscure, very unknown Pandora watch line called Expressions. This line was released sometime in 2013, it retailed for $99, and it was considered limited edition. It was only released in Australia I think? (I could be way wrong here,) and on the US East coast and only for several days. Now I’m one of those people that if you tell me I can’t have one, I will work vehemently to get one, I don’t like feeling like I’ve missed out so ever since I heard of this watch I made it my mission to obtain one.

Well it took two years but I finally got one! If you watched the unboxing video, you will see the watch I received was blue, and I was very excited about it! Before I start talking about it, I will list the technical aspects of this watch:

– Japanese Quartz movement
– 10ATM (50m) Water Resistant
– Suitable for everyday use. Will withstand accidental splashing. Not suitable for swimming
– Three Hand Analogue Display with date
– Stainless steel
– White dial

First Impression:

At first impression I loved the watch! It’s colorful, and sporty and way different than the rest of Pandora’s watch lines which is why I liked it to begin with. It’s more casual and forgive me if I sound a little dense here, but I liked that all the number lines were there. For some reason I’ve always had trouble telling time when I don’t have at least the 12, 3, 6, and 9 numbers LOL. It fit comfortably on my wrist, and is lightweight, which is another plus for me and I liked the softness of the silicone strap. I decided to put it away till I was ready to wear it out in order to further review the watch.

Review:

Well, now that we’ve come to the official review of this watch I am sorry to say I’m not liking it as much as I thought I would :(. Within the first three hours of wear I accidently bumped my wrist on a counter, and when I went to look at the watch to see if it was ok, I saw this:

I was horrified! You can see the hands pointing right at it! I hadn’t hit my wrist that hard and was very very surprised to see the chip! Maybe I happened to hit it just right, but it was very disappointing to see how fragile this watch is. This is my first Pandora watch, but I know for a fact that this should not have happened. I thought maybe it wasn’t made with sapphire crystal like other Pandora watches but I couldn’t find that information anywhere. Pandora states that ALL their watches are made with sapphire crystal except the oblong line so who knows. I had also heard from other girls who have this watch that they wear it everyday and it still looks like new so I really don’t get it. I know this is a genuine Pandora watch, I bought it from a reputable seller so what gives? Like I said, maybe I hit it just right, but it pains me because I’m usually very gentle with all my jewelry, and if one little bump can cause this kind of damage, I wonder how this watch will live up to daily use.

Also after a couple of hours of wearing it, I did feel like the skin on my wrist got a little sweaty which was a concern for me since this is a silicone watch, however it’s not a big deal and it doesn’t really hinder me wearing the watch. It also worries me that the bezel is made out of plastic, which I don’t think will be able to live up to everyday wear, perhaps this is why I was able to chip the watch face so easily. So far it’s leaving me with a very bad impression. One small plus; the watch hands do glow in the dark, I don’t know why this is a plus, maybe because I’ve always liked it when watches glow in the dark, call it a trait I’ve dragged ever since childhood.

In Conclusion:

So I think I know why this watch was limited edition, either I’m a complete klutz and watch killer and should not be allowed anywhere near a watch, or this watch is cheaply made and not made to last a lifetime, even with proper care. I don’t know. I just know that after searching for so long, it is very disappointing to finally acquire one and it sort of breaking down so fast. I know it’s not the end of the world, and that I can have the crystal replaced, but from now on, I will be extremely careful with this watch and only wear it when I go out.

Does anyone out there have this watch? What do you think of it? Is it still like new even with daily use? Am I truly a watch killer? Comment down below, let me know!
