Latest Acquisition: Waxing Poetic Regal Insignia and Gothic Insignia

I haven’t done a Waxing Poetic post in awhile and that is because I keep forgetting about it! Also because I feel that Waxing Poetic is not as well known and when I do dedicate a post to the brand, it’s almost always about a piece that is retired, this is the case today.

Today’s post will be introducing a new category, I decided to do so as my “Latest Hauls” doesn’t really apply to this as I only purchased two charms so it’s not really considered a haul. I can use this new category whenever I buy only one or two charms, or whenever it’s a small purchase and not a massive one and this way I can still showcase my recent purchases.

As you all know by now, I can only afford to buy Waxing Poetic when it goes on sale, and it only goes on sale when they are about to retire pieces. I would say 99% of my Waxing Poetic posts feature retired pieces LOL so please bear with me. I really do like their aesthetic, it’s romantic, and vintage and by using brass they incorporate two tone elements which I love. Please welcome my two most recent purchases: the Gothic Insignia and the Regal Insignia:

The Regal Insignia is a smallish charm, sterling silver and it measures 3/4 of an inch or 20 mm without the bail, and there’s not much to it, it’s a pretty basic charm of the inital R with a crown on top and a cubic zirconia as an embellish. I liked this charm because of it’s simplicity and I liked the font used in the letter R, very decorative and it reminds me of cursive writing. I also liked the name of it, Regal, anything regal or royal I like!

The Gothic Insignia I also like very much because it’s mostly brass with the initial being cast in sterling silver, this charm is smaller than the Regal Insignia measuring at 1/2 an inch or 13 mm.

As you all know I have yet to buy a Waxing Poetic bracelet, and that is because I don’t much care for their bangles, I don’t like my charms to be all bunched up together and the Ongoing Ballad bracelet is much too expensive to me. I tried making my own bracelet using a more traditional chain charm bracelet but I was not pleased with the results.

I have seen on Instagram that some people use a Trollbeads bracelet with stoppers, but there again I would have to buy a bunch of stoppers which is not cheap, but I do like that alternative better. Perhaps I should price it out and see how much it would cost! Or maybe I can buy off brand stoppers designed to fit Trollbeads, who knows, at least I have options now.

I simply adore this look! A bit pricey with all those pearls, I would have to use nothing but stoppers or use some other  cheaper brand to use as spacers if I were to copy this look.

Little by little I am fulfilling my wish list and I’m sure one day I will have all the charms I like, I would focus on this brand more and use a Trollbeads bracelet like I talked about before, but my eye tends to wander to other brands LOL, I’m sure you know how that is!

Waxingpoetic has a sale going on right now if you want to take advantage, however my preferred retailer is The Lamp Stand because they offer Waxing Poetic closeouts at 40% off! That’s just too good of a deal to pass up. I have taken advantage of this sale and have acquired two more charms, there were three more I wanted but I have to pace myself LOL. Do you like the look of Waxing Poetic charms? Will you be taking advantage of this great sale?
