As I was talking to a fellow jewelry fiend about how people wear their Pandora bracelets the topic of themes came up. It is interesting to me how many different ways there is to start a Pandora bracelet, some people will only wear what other family or friends have gifted them, or it will be a family theme with kids and granchildren’s birthstones, or their wedding, or favorite color, etc., the list goes on and on. I was telling my friend how I had been wanting to start a Christmas bracelet but wasn’t sure if I wanted to as I would only wear it one month out of the year and if it was really worth it. She was saying she loved her Halloween bracelet and how she was lucky to have gotten the witch, ghost, and jack o lantern charms before they were retired.
Fast forward the conversation to the point of this post, I was telling her I didn’t think I had enough Christmas charms to actually wear on a bracelet, when I got home later that day I pulled out my collection only to realize I did indeed have enough charms to put on a bracelet! In my eagerness to purchase soon to be retired charms that had been on my wishlist for years, I had actually acquired about six real Christmas charms, and the rest I could pull from other bracelets to fill in the meaningfulness of the holiday for me. Some of the charms have meaning, others are just Christmas charms that I like. Here now is my bracelet in it’s current state:
It is missing a ton of charms, but I think I have a good start on it. I will go in order of the charms I have on the bracelet to explain the meaning behind them. First lets start with the apple. Many of you might be wondering why an apple on a Christmas bracelet?
Ever since I can remember my mother always makes a special punch during this time, almost like a type of cider distilled from different fruits along with spices such as cloves and cinnamon. The apple symbolizes this punch along with memories of other foods that are only prepared during Christmas time.
Next we come to the Christmas tree and the angel, we don’t need an explanation for those do we? š
Then we come to the Silent Night charm and as I just did a review on it, I don’t need to go into details as to why I think this belongs on my Christmas bracelet. This charm is followed by the clear pave star charm, the 2012 Black Friday charm, the 2014 Black Friday charm and the Gift Bow:
The pave star charm symbolizes the star of Bethlehem which guided the three wise men on their journey. The 2012 Black Friday charm obviously represents the gifts we give and receive during this special time! It’s also my first charm in the Black Friday limited edition series, I’ve collected every charm ever since.
The 2014 Black Friday charm is an ornament which again I don’t think needs an explanation. Then there’s the Gift Bow charm, this one I bought on an impulse, it may or may not stay on my Christmas bracelet once I start adding more charms to it. It doesn’t really signify anything for me, but it goes with the bracelet because of the bows we all use to decorate our gifts with.
Next is the 2013 Black Friday Charm, this one was a real favorite with customers as I struggled to get my hands on this one before it sold out. This one obviously signifies the cold weather that I truly enjoy as I love wearing long boots, leggings, long woolen coats and beautiful scarves as part of my outfits during the cold season.
Finally we come to the retired two toned Holly charm. This one is one of my favorites, initially it was supposed to go on a project that I’m working on, a mostly two toned and green bracelet, and was never supposed to go on a Christmas bracelet, however now that I decided to do a Christmas bracelet I decided to migrate it temporarily to it so I can have more charms on it.
And there you have it, my Christmas bracelet up to now. I used the Rock Star clips because all my other clips are being used on other bracelets, these will be on this bracelet for now until Pandora makes better winter themed clips, I’m not in love with their Winter Wonderland clips. I eventually plan to add the Holy Family, the Candy Cane, Winter Mittens and a slew of other charms. I think eventually though I will have to stop collecting the Black Friday charms or just have two Christmas bracelets LOL.
I hope you’ve enjoyed taking a peek into my Christmas bracelet stylings! Do you have a Christmas bracelet as well? Tag me on Instagram, show me your winter themed bracelets, I always like looking at other people’s designs!
That is so beautiful! Thank you for sharing the stories behind your charms. I really like why you have the apple on there, that’s a really sweet memory of your mom
Thanks! There are more charms missing, hopefully next year I’ll have added to it and I’ll make a post about it again!
Aaaah, you are killing me. I’m still waiting for Part 2 of your November Trollbeads shopping. Also, I hope you got some X for Black Friday :))) I need to see that š
Aw thanks for your comment! I’m actually working in that video right now! It’ll be up this Thursday, and yes I hope I got some nice goodies from X from Black Friday too! Although I did splurge on myself as well, might do a mini haul video on that one š
Awesome! Yes, please, do a video. Your reviews are so useful, especially on the X Jewellery. It is not much covered elsewhere. I love this line but it is not popular here, so my local Trollbeads store has a very limited offer and I have to buy from abroad. I went a bit crazy for Black Friday and got black and bordeaux links, two single bronze links, zipper lock, protect, lovers bond, rough romance, order in chaos and lots of love š I already know I need many more š
That is awesome!!! I love X, that’s one of the reasons why I started the blog, to mostly review X bc I couldn’t find any other information out there. I want to get the zipper lock as well, looks pretty sturdy! I have upcoming X reviews too.
