Hello! Today I will be reviewing the Trollbeads Crown ring as I made another purchase to the Trollbeads dealer that is going out of business. I debated whether to do another unboxing video to showcase it, but I decided against it as I feel like I’ve been doing a lot of videos lately and I’m pulling away from actual blogging. I’ve always liked this ring, I however LOVE the Crown ring with gold but she unfortunately did not have any left. Quick warning: this is an image heavy post as I needed to take many shots of me wearing the ring in order to illustrate my points.
First Impression:
On my last post I mentioned how I like royal motifs, so the Crown ring was right up my alley. However when I spoke to people about this ring, they all warned me that the ring would stick me. I didn’t quite understand what they meant by that and assumed the crown would snag on clothing or even skin if I wasn’t careful. I was talked into buying two Crown rings to prevent sticking and although I was apprehensive about buying two of the same ring I went ahead and did it as it was a very deep discount 😉
Review:
I’ve been wearing just one of the rings so far and it’s pretty comfortable, however I now understand what people meant by the sticking as I will illustrate in the picture below:
I’ve been wearing it for a couple of hours and even closing my fist tightly on purpose to see what I feel and I do feel the ring stabbing me slightly but it’s not painful enough not to wear the ring and I would have to close my hand very, very tight and for a long period of time in order to find this ring uncomfortable to wear. I feel my fingernails stabbing more than the ring does. I find this strange as in the pictures it looks painful, but it really doesn’t bother me at all! Maybe it’s because I have fat fingers? The extra padding offers protection LOL 😀
In any case there are a few ways to wear this ring:
1.
3.
The second way of wearing the ring (one crown facing up, one crown facing down) was probably the least comfortable way to wear them as I was able to feel the prongs sticking me after all, but that is wearing the crown upside down. I have a friend who wears it this way and it sticks her less. I guess everyone is different!
I like them all, and I don’t regret buying two, I can always wear them together or separately. Another great thing about this ring is from what I have seen from images on the web, this ring depending on the size (I think) has different details. Both of mine had the same detail (I got a 7 1/2 and 8) but I’ve seen many other rings have diamonds, triangles, hearts, and stars. Too bad mine were the same, it would’ve been cool to have two of the same rings but with different designs. Perhaps half sizes don’t count. I also noticed that the ring in size 8 (top ring) has heavier oxidation on it that the 7 1/2 as you can see from these images:
In Conclusion:
I like having options when wearing the Crown ring now, I can wear them both at the same time or just one at a time. I can stack it with other rings as well if I choose to. It’s a solid ring, heavy and well made. The Crown ring is sterling silver with some oxidation to bring out the details and retails for $76. I would suggest that you try this ring on before you buy if you are lucky enough to have a Trollbeads dealer near you. Everyone is different and this ring may not work for you, unless you are willing to buy two and stack them together in order to prevent the ring from stabbing you.
I hope this review has been helpful to you, I know I was looking for more information online and didn’t find anything helpful, therefore this review came to be. Let me know if it’s helped you some, and if you already own this ring I would love your take on it! Does your ring have other detailing on it? Post to my Facebook page or tag me on Instagram so I can check it out, thanks and until next time Happy Hunting!
