For today’s post I will be reviewing the new Pave Barrel Clip that has just come out for the Mother’s Day 2016 collection. I have to say I had completely forgotten about the release of this clip as I have not been focusing on Pandora much lately and that is because I’m generally underwhelmed by Pandora’s collections recently. There has been few “must have” pieces for me and when that happens my attention tends to wander towards other brands. That isn’t to say that I have fallen out of love with Pandora, I still like the brand very, very much, it will always be my first forage into European modular charm jewelry, and my wish list is still incredibly long! I’ve noticed recently I’ve been focused on catching up on my wishlist, which is a good thing LOL. Anyway, onto the actual review!
First Impression:
This clip of course is a close match to the Pave Barrel Clasp bracelet that Pandora introduced late last year. Knowing what the bracelet looks like, one doesn’t have to guess very hard at how the clip will look like in real life, and as I took pictures and played with the clip I noticed this clip is pretty much identical to the bracelet clasp. I have to apologize though for the poor quality of the pics, it is very hard to photograph shiny things!
Review:
As stated before, this clip is identical to the clasp, it’s shiny and blingy and compliments the Pave Barrel Clasp bracelet perfectly.
I have to say it’s a love-hate relationship I have with Pandora pave. I think Pandora’s use of pave is getting a bit heavy handed but at the same time, it is nice to look at, it’s eye catching, and the feeling of a stone encrusted piece feels luxurious. I don’t approve of how Pandora is using pave on EVERYTHING and even going as far as replacing classic charms with pave counterparts, I hope customers don’t get burned out on pave and in the future Pandora experiences a backlash for covering everything in cubic zirconias.
Here is the clip next to the bracelet and you can also see how I got carried away playing with the clips:
I rather like the way it looks with all of the pave clips together including the Open My Heart Pave clip. It might be too blingy and too matchy-matchy but I like it. If I were to buy the Pave Barrel Clasp bracelet, I would also buy the corresponding Pave Barrel Clips and the Open My Heart Clip and call it a day!
In Conclusion:
Aside from the overuse of pave and cubic zirconia, these clips are pretty nice and make a nice compliment to the Pave Barrel Clasp bracelet. These clips retail for $75 each, which is a bit pricey but well worth it if you like a lot of sparkle. Perhaps one could wear these out on a night on the town or on a nice dinner date. What do you think of these clips? Would you wear these during the day or do you think it’s more of an evening clip?
