Review: Pandora Silent Night Charm

Today’s post is about a charm that is not necessarily new, but it’s newish to me. This charm was purchased back in March of this year and I had promised a review ever since then however I think it’s more appropriate now because of the Christmas season. I know this isn’t the first review out there of this bead, but this is my take on the charm as this will be the first year I get to wear it.

First Impression:

When this charm came out as part of the Winter 2014 collection I was disappointed to find out that it was a Jared exclusive as I don’t shop at Jared’s much. That is why when the March promo came out I took advantage of it by shopping at Jared’s and snagging a couple of exclusives, it worked out pretty well for me. The Silent Night bead is one of my favorites in my ever growing Christmas collection of charms as it depicts the story of the three wise men along with Mary and Joseph making the trip to Bethlehem and finally the last scene of Mary and Joseph in the stable.

Review:

This bead is unlike anything else Pandora has made as I stated before, it kind of tells the story of the Nativity. It is surprising to me (and refreshing) that the charm is just sterling silver, and is not covered in cubic zirconias. The only cubic zirconia is on the star and that’s it. It’s so small you need to examine it very closely to make sure it’s there.

This charm is also threaded which again is refreshing as lately Pandora has been making a ton of charms not necessarily open worked yet lacking the threading. Also now that it’s finally December, I feel comfortable enough to start wearing my Christmas bracelet.  I was joking with some friends on how I didn’t think I had enough Christmas charms in order to start a bracelet, then I actually started to go through my charms only to realize I had more than enough to wear on a bracelet.

I think I will probably do a What I’m Wearing to go in depth on my Christmas bracelet and explain the how and why of my Christmas charm choices. That will be a fun post so stay tuned!

I would also like to apologize to my readers as I have not been very consistent on posting lately, ever since November it’s been crazy and I’m sure you can all relate! I will redouble my efforts in my posts as I have a lot planned. I also plan on lifting my semi serious Pandora ban as there’s nothing like a retirement wave to push me into buying the charms I’ve had on my wish list. Stay tuned for a haul video on that too, although that may or may not be until next year, I’m not sure yet!

In Conclusion:

Sorry if I got off topic there for a minute. This charm only retails for $40 which is not too steep and would make a lovely addition to any bracelet. My only concern is that because it has such a shiny finish that scratches will definitely show up on the bead, I know I can’t help it, but I wish I could keep it nice and shiny forever! Is this bead on your wish list? Do you already own this bead? If yes, how does it wear? Let me know in the comments down below, and until next time Happy Hunting!

That is a very pretty bead. I look forward to a blog entry about your Christmas bracelet. I love hearing about other peoples meaning behind why they have the charms they do.

I find that actually inspiring and while I don’t have a blog I can do that on Instagram! Which, btw, I have to thank you for suggesting getting an account. I don’t miss the drama of Facebook but I sure missed sharing pictures.

    • Aw thank you! I’m glad you like Instagram! And yes it’s nice to share without most of the drama.

I also like to see other peoples bracelets and the meaning behind each bead. I’m working on that post, of course I will let you know when it’s up 🙂

Yes I’ve missed your posts for one! 🙂 I don’t have this charm, but I like its simplicity and plain silver detailing! I’ve gone for more of the bright enamel Christmas charms this year, but in the past the pretty classic silvers and two tone pieces were always my favourites.

    • Thanks! I wanted to do a colorful Christmas bracelet with reds but realized on the online bracelet designer that I don’t have enough room to include all the charms I want, so it will be a more low key, meaningful bracelet instead.
