On today’s post I will be reviewing a charm that is actually still current on Waxing Poetic’s website and not retired!! It is from the Good Book Pages series and it is the Protect charm. I don’t know if you all know this by now, but I am obsessed with anything angelic, so this charm was right up my alley along with a couple of others that I have not been able to score just yet.
First Impression:
I thought this charm was darling! I liked the idea of a charm that looked like it was an actual page torn out of a book. The detail is pretty nice and I liked that it had the brass detailing of an angel kneeling in prayer.
Review:
As you can see from the images, (the front and back of the charm, and the edges where the “page” turns in a little bit), that this charm is very detailed. This is one of the reasons I fell in love with Waxing Poetic, because I feel like their charms are nostalgic and they represent values and virtues extremely well.
This review is a pretty basic one, there’s not much more I can say about this charm, but that it’s well made. I do wish it was a hair bigger, but that is just so one could see the angel kneeling on it more clearly.
So while I was waiting for responses from a post on Instagram, I decided to play around with an old charm bracelet I inherited from my aunt that passed away. I thought putting my Waxing Poetic charms on it with split rings would look great, this was my idea:
Please disregard the star charms you see in the pic, it’s from and abandoned project and I may or may not leave them on the bracelet. Also I need to get another charm on the right to regain symmetry on the bracelet. If you follow me on Instagram, you may have seen the completed bracelet and my less than enthusiastic reaction to it, although I did get a comment from an awesome follower (thanks CrispyCris9!) encouraging me to keep it as is. If you want to see it, check it out on my Instagram account.
In Conclusion:
Overall I’m very pleased with this charm, it’s crafted very well, and the details are darling. This charm is sterling silver, with the iconography made out of brass, retails for $56 and is still available.
