Review: Pandora Pre-Autumn 2015 Pet Charms

Hello! Today I’ll be talking about a part of the pre-autumn release, specifically the pet charms, as I came across them in my last visit to my nearest concept store. I noticed there was one charm missing from the pet collection, but that is not uncommon with Pandora lately, usually there will be one or two missing items from the main release, with the missing item usually appearing later on or as a part of the next season’s collection.

First Impression:

I practically squealed when I saw the tray with these new charms on them. Also I didn’t much care to do this but now I feel I MUST do it, and that is to start a whole pet bracelet for my doggie! I already have the I Heart my Dog bone dangle charm, and I have the My Sweet Pet heart charm, I also have the older Doghouse charm so why not? I simply adore most of these charms, they are well made, and feel solid in my hand.

Review:

One good thing to note on these charms is that they are all threaded. This came as a surprise to me as I assumed that the Paw Prints was going to be open worked, usually a pave heavy charm such as this is open worked, but this one is not, which I actually like as I feel that the charm is more secure on the bracelet and won’t just slide off. This charm will retail for $65.

The Devoted Dog charm I have mixed feelings about. I usually don’t like head charms, they seem kind of creepy to me, because I think to myself, where is the rest of it? However I think I’ll be getting this charm because I have a mixed breed dog, so Pandora will never make a charm that will fit my dog specifically, this will be as good as it gets. The little face is very like my own dog’s along with her floppy ears, so just for this reason I’ll most likely be getting this charm as well. This one will retail for $30.

Next we have the Woof charm, which just by the name won me over. The bowl is very detailed, a miniature copy of a real dog bowl. The cute little bone on it is the cherry on top, and just adds that extra cute factor to the charm. This charm will retail at $35.

I have to say with all these dog charms coming out, it will be extremely easy to design a bracelet devoted to the most spoiled dog on the block! I can’t wait to get my hands on them, this is so hard, I add to my wish list faster than I can buy!

And now for the kitty charms, they are their exact counterparts to the dog charms, same details and pricing with the exception of the Curious Cat, online the prices state $30, however in my store it was marked at $35, could’ve been a mistake, I will update the post with the correct pricing once they either catch their mistake or it’s finalized at $30. I can’t wait to get my sister the cat charms, she very recently adopted a kitty, so I’m sure I’ll make her day when I give her the Curious Cat and Meow charms.

And lastly we come to the I Love my Pet and the missing I Love my Pets charms. The I Love my Pet charm is similar to the My Sweet Pet heart, both heart shaped, with the I Love my Pet charm having the now trademark Pandora pave paw print on one side and the words on the other side. Makes me wonder if Pandora will retire the My Sweet Pet charm, regardless I already have it so I don’t have to worry about it. This charm will retail at $50.

As for the missing I Love my Pets charm (very redundant on the names by the way), I am going to assume that there is a production issue with the charm because based on the photos I’ve seen the charm looks like it’s covered in a silver or white enamel and it has three sides to it, (if a sphere can have three sides to it :P). What I mean is it’s a sphere but as you rotate it, it has an I, a <3 and a little paw all in pave detailing. It looks very cute, and I would love to see what it looks like IRL, once my store gets it, I may update this post with live shots. The charm will retail at $55.

In Conclusion:

Pandora couldn’t help but put some pave in these charms, but I think they restrained themselves pretty well and we have a nice set of well made, sterling silver charms that can be very meaningful to customers who will purchase these. They are all threaded and almost have a classic Pandora feel to them which I appreciate very much. I think Pandora has really pulled away from their once abstract and geometrical designs to more blingy, and representational ones, which isn’t necessarily bad, just overdone at times.

What do you think of the new pet charms? Do you plan on indulging when your stores get them?
