My Thoughts on: The Pandora 2015 Club Charm

Hi all, today I’ll be talking about Pandora’s new 2015 club charm. It’s been out for a couple of weeks and I have mine on hold still so the following pictures are just what I took when I was still in the store, and I have to say, I’m not that impressed with it.

Pandora did things little differently this year, they announced it without too much pomp and circumstance and there were no vouchers either, (which weren’t really needed anyway as they made too many of the 2014 charm and at one point were give out as free gifts to staff at roadshows, and it even ended up on Rue La La).

I have to say I’m not too impressed with the charm this year, and really the only reason I’m getting it is because I got last year’s, and I feel if I don’t get this year’s it will be weird to have one year that I missed, there will be no continuity if you get what I’m saying.

If you read my last Thoughts On regarding Pandora’s 2015 Valentine’s Day Collection, you will have seen that I was upset at the similarity between this year’s Valentine’s Day collection and the Disney collection.  I made comparisons between the two and I stated that Pandora’s designs felt tired and without imagination or creativity. Well apparently the trend is continuing with this year’s Pandora Club charm.

Let me illustrate several points:  One, I feel that Pandora is trying to lure customers with an exclusive and limited edition charm, however they are too scared to actually make this a limited edition charm. I’ve heard both rumors in stores that once it’s gone it’s gone, then again my local store was able to order 20 more charms when they sold out. Two, why oh why would you make this almost an identical copy to the Princess Heart charm? What is so special about the 2015 Club Charm if it’s a dead ringer for the Princess Heart? I for one feel gypped that Pandora yet again recycled a design, especially for the this year’s Club Charm.

When the Princess Heart debuted I did not like it, I liked certain aspects of it, but I thought it was a bit kitschy, even cheesy (this is my humble opinion, doesn’t mean I’m right). If it had been a simple heart with the golden crown and the engraving of my princess that alone would’ve sufficed, but to add the garish pink heart in the middle of it was a bit over the top. If they had left it alone with the crown it would’ve reminded me of a lovely Pandora classic, the King’s Crown charm which I own and adore! Having said all this, I again remind you my dear readers, this is just my opinion and to end on a more positive note, the 2015 Club Charm would be a lovely bead to help balance out a bracelet symmetrically  if you happen to own the Princess Heart.

But I digress, in retrospect I’m sure it’s hard to keep coming up with new designs, and although last year’s design may not have been a favorite with everyone, at least we can say it was creative and different, unfortunately we can’t say the same thing for this year’s charm. I’ve said my piece on the 2015 Club Charm, what do you all think of the charm? Do I have a point or am I being too harsh?

I totally agree with you. It just has “2015” on this charm and a diamond, which I think is more sophisticated than that cheesy pink gem and design around it.
