FYI: Pandora Retirement Wave April – July 2015 pt.2

UPDATED 7/20/15- Again Pandora added a couple more items to their retired list, and at this point I can say that these items are all officially retired now as this information comes a I happened to go into my local Pandora store in order to see if I could change around one of my bracelets and I realized the staff was pulling everything in order to send the jewelry back to Pandora HQ.  If any of these were on your wish list I suggest you go to your nearest Pandora ASAP.  Below will be a list of the additions:

-Vintage Allure earring studs

UPDATED 6/16/15: Pandora has added a couple more items to their discontinued list, they will be at the tail end of the galleries. Also this is the updated list:

Rings
-Love Takes Flight

Earrings
-Cherry Blossoms earring charms
-Fascinating Beauty dangles black
-Fascinating Beauty dangles blue
-Light As a Feather earring charms
-Midnight Star clear cubic zirconia earring charms

Today I will be talking about Pandora’s second wave of retirement, or should I say second wave of discontinued jewelry. For those of you who still don’t know how it works, Pandora will not officially announce when certain pieces of jewelry are being discontinued, this is the first step before an item is retired. Now I don’t know about you, but this is when I’ll usually go into Pandora and buy all the items I’ve been procrastinating on because I don’t like waiting for the official retirement announcement. If you haven’t already done so, please check out my last post on this subject Pandora Next Retirement Wave pt.1. I have noticed on some websites that sell Pandora, most of these charms are already considered retired while others are still not on their retirement pages. It’s all very confusing, and it’s also hard to keep track of because like I said, some of the charms that were considered discontinued somehow migrated over to fully retired.

Here now is a list of the rest of the jewelry that is being discontinued:

Gold Rings

Silver Rings

Gold Earrings

Silver Earrings

Gold Pendants

It is interesting to note that Pandora is pulling the posts from the Compose line, the large hoops and the large posts are leaving the collection. Either they are going to come out with new designs or the Compose line is going the way of the dinosaurs, just like their necklace concept. I’m also surprised to see the heart posts go, along with the butterfly studs. If memory serves the heart posts came out Valentine of 2013 and the Love Takes Flight earrings only came out Spring of 2014. I guess if certain jewelry pieces are not immediately popular (i.e.high selling) then they will be pulled. I really don’t care for either of these two pieces anyway, at first I thought I’d like the heart posts, but then I realized they don’t fit right, the posts aren’t made to accommodate an ear, you have to open them up in order for them to go into the piercing, anyone else know what I’m talking about?

I am sorry to see the hoops go though, I already own a pair so I don’t think I’ll buy another pair, but I am very curious to see what Pandora does next. I’m also very surprised to see the purple Brilliant Legacy ring go, that one was also a Spring 2014 release. I wonder who picks what stays and what goes.

So I am extremely surprised to see the Light as a Feather, Cherry Blossoms and Midnight Stars go!! What the heck is going on? I know they remade the Light as a Feather earrings into actual earrings, so it’s not like they are actually retiring, however they just released the Midnight Stars last Christmas! These are on my wish list so I need to call my shop to have them put on hold for me!

In any event, I hope this post has been helpful, if there is anything you see above that you just have to have, I recommend you get it ASAP. There’s not point in waiting, especially with the upcoming leather bracelet event happening soon, this is a perfect opportunity to pick those items on a wish list and score a free bracelet. Happy Hunting!
